“Imagination Takes Flight, Kids’ College 2013” is provided as an academic and enriching summer experience where school age children can let their imaginations soar while exploring new areas of interest and creativity.
Kids’ College for school age children to include 2nd through 9th grades, is a summer program sponsored by Lake-Sumter State College and has been offered for the past 24 years at the Leesburg Campus and the past 12 years in the South Lake, Clermont area. Students entering grades 10 through 12 can choose to be a volunteer.
Classes offered range from academics and crafts to sports and performing arts. The Kids’ College program consists this year of 3 two-week sessions in Leesburg and 3 two-week sessions in Clermont with half-day and full-day offerings. Students may attend the half-day program, taking 2 classes or full-day program, taking 4 classes. Students coming for three, two-week full day programs have an opportunity to explore 12 different classes/subjects.
Mission is to provide an enriching academic summer experience for school-age children to expand their knowledge and learn new skills. |
