Module 3: Locating and Accessing Information
To make finding sources easier, libraries organize information sources in several ways:
- by format - online or physical collections
- by type of source - physical information sources in libraries are often organized into separate collections of books, periodicals, government documents, reference books, leisure reading books
- physical collections are usually organized by subject - literature, computer science, history, criminal justice
- classification systems are used to organize physical collections by subject
